Our achievements

CIFA has vast achievement in terms of reaching to the target beneficiaries while also impacting positively on them and these success stories have been eminent under water and environment, livestock and crop production and peace building program. More so the use of a participatory approach has enabled the organization to reach effectively and efficiently to its target beneficiaries and one such success strategy is the community managed disaster risk reduction (CMDRR) model clusters, where community capacities are enhanced to build resilience to the shocks in their environment.
The following are also other key achievements in various programs implemented by CIFA.

  1. Improved management of water resource utilization.
  2. Increased household income.
  3. Improved community hygiene and sanitation.
  4. Enhanced capacity of the district peace committees.
  5. Improved community coping mechanisms e.g. production of hay as an alternative livelihood.
  6. Reduced stress on livestock and human through development of strategic water points.
  7. Access to education through construction of schools and boarding facilities in remote areas Mobile schools are also other an innovative idea that was initiated by CIFA to cater for the needs of school going age children of the purely nomadic pastoralist.
