Sectoral activities

Currently, CIFA implements activities in the areas of livestock development, water and environment, food security, education sector, peace and conflict as well as institutional strengthening.  One of the main milestones for this organization has been its ability to sharpen and refocus its mandate through clearly defined niche’ that is articulated through the vision, mission statements and community-oriented operating strategies.   In addition, the organization, over the years has cultivated a culture of the development of elaborate 5-year strategic plans (2000-2005-2010).  These documents have over the years defined and shaped what CIFA is, what it does and the rationale for doing what it does.

CIFA will continue to implement the above mentioned programs using suitable procedures and rights based approach of engagement with our beneficiaries .The approach shall among other issues embrace:-

  • Community involvement in all stages of project cycle.
  • Lobby and advocate for favorable government policy.
  • Collaboration with like minded stakeholders.
  • Reduction of extreme poverty for the vulnerable households.
  • Rights based approach to program implementation.
